Materials Chemistry is an interdisciplinary science that involves chemistry and physics. It concerns the synthesis, characterization, and utilization of materials. The researchers in the department are interested in inorganic, organic, and polymeric materials, which are in nanotechnologies and macrostructures. The research topics have been devoted to the formation of materials suitable for various applications, mainly solar-energy harvesting and green technologies. Furthermore, the “Philosophy and Mission” of Silpakorn University and the Faculty of Science have placed importance on the knowledge of art. The developments of materials in art and conservation are also carried out, for example, colored glass for decoration and lake pigment for painting and cloth dyeing.
